Random

Some random pics of Lane-ard.
Here's his "work glasses" He puts them on so it squishes his eyes down and it's pretty funny. He looks alot like Ralphie again in this picture..

Sweet bubble bath. Our jetted tub makes the most amazing bubbles, Lane loves it.

what else am I going to do with it?

I decided to take apart my wedding dress and turn it into baby blessing dresses for my girl(s). I thought it would be a good use for it becuase for the past 3 years it's been curled up in a little ball traveling from garage to basements to other random yucky storage places. SO I thought it would make a really pretty dress for our little girl...we'll see how it turns out!

Budding artist

Scott took Lane to work with him today, and let him play in the back of his truck while he was finishing up something. Well Lane crawled through the back window into the cab, and found a Sharpie.........need I saw more?

It's kind of like having zebra striped seat covers....

He decided he needed some stripes, too....

"see,....i used this!"

It's actually kind of funny, good thing it's a work truck though. I just need to make sure that all the writing utensils INSIDE the house are under lock and key!!

Merry Christmas to you, toys....

Now our dirtbikes, snowmobiles, kayaks, and other various implements of outdoor fun will no longer have to spend another freezing winter out in the snow! They have a home!!!

Doesn't get any better.....

I was leaving for work this morning, and this is what I saw.

I was driving home from work and listening to NPR, and thinking about my pictures I had taken this morning. And I thought, how amazing it is that with all the craziness, and scary things, and problems in the world I get to drive home to this beautiful little untouched oasis and totally forget for a while all the sad things of this world, and just enjoy the nature that God made for us. I have got to be the luckiest person alive.....

Game mounts- Part 1

As part of Lane's room decor, we are making game head mounts for his walls. Here's one we inherited from the great "Grampa Lane" himself!! It's a sweet fish......and he SINGS! it's one of those that flaps his tail and moves his head to sing at you. It's motion sensored, but we have to leave it off when Lane isn't supervised because he has a love/hate thing going on with the fish.
He INSISTS that the fishy sing to him EVERY night before bed, but he won't stand within 6 feet of it.....i think he thinks it's going to bite him or something... If you hold the fish near him he screams with terror but then when it starts to sing and we put it back on the floor he dances his fool head off! Such a strange boy sometimes. SO anyways, we'll get the deer and the elk done eventually.....OH yeah, and the musk-ox too.....Can't wait!

Progress

Well I got some of Lane's Room's projects done. At least now the cardboard on the windows are replaced with curtains, and his little bear rug is done! He seems to like them both. The curtains will eventually have a matching stick on the bottom for weight, but I forgot to buy the eyelets to attatch them, SOOOOO someday they'll get done. But they work for now!

Lane wanted me to take a picture of him saying "cheese"

Lane trying out his new bear rug. He's showing me his "bear teeth"

Here's the curtains...

Full shot of the bear rug....I origially pictured a bigger teddy bear.....but this is what they had at the thrift store. I think it's fun

where's lane!?!? Any ideas on what to do with this sweet camo net???

Millions of peaches....

Peaches for ME!!!! Well i guess i'll share them with my family... THANK YOU THANK YOU Jess and Jade for helping me get my peaches done! I have canned with these girls for 3 years now! It's lots of fun, and lots of work. BUT it's worth it. I think i got about 43 jars of peaches this year......next week......i'm tackling my pears! WOO HOO

weekend projects

This weekend Scott started our "shed." It's really a 16X36 ft "shop" sort-of. For now it will house all of our toys, motorized and sea-worthy. Eventually we'll put lean-to's on both sides and it will hold yard stuff, garden stuff, and whatever else. We're so excited to have a place to store our stuff before the winter! And I'll even get scott's tools out of my pantry so I can actually use it to store food!

Here's one of my cute log ladders for my blankets. Scott made this one. I get to make the one for the attic apparently :)
