more updates

Here's some more random updates of the house and stuff:

The master bedroom, outlets are in (thanks to yours truly. I am an electrical GENIOUS!) lights in, woods done, ready for carpet.
Lane's room all trimmed out.

nursery all trimmed out. All the rooms on the second floor are ready for carpet now. WOO HOO!

Here's what all our interior doors look like. yeah, we're a little obsessed with wood...i know i know. :)

this is the "spare" room. Scott said i couldn't leave it white, so I threatened purple. I wasn't kidding. i LOVE it! everytime i pass it it makes me laugh. I would totally move into it if i didn't love my jetted tub so much.....and my husband......but seriously...what a fun room this is!!

Purple room trimmed out. Scott calls it the purple nightmare. WHATEVER

the front of the house, with NO scaffolding, finally! Scott finished the gable siding! Looks great.

Close up of the "shake" in the gable.....fun huh

Here's Grizz. He's getting big. He's such a good dog, we love our grizzly bear. Lane even has songs he sings about him. Very cute.
So our next projects are, rocking the fireplace/chimney, building the bar/bathroom vanities (log of course), picking out counters/tile for kitchen walls, and wood floors. Then we're ready for carpet, then we're DONE DONE DONE!!! well i'm getting ahead of myself, we probly still have a good two months but that's ok.

Cabinets and such....

We got our kitchen cabinets last week! WOO HOO!! Overall I am happy with them. I love the color, and I think the wood is pretty, and it goes well with the pine. BUT we ordered them to have "heavy wear" or sanding so they look worn. Well they didn't do very much, so it looks kind of random, and not as rustic as we wanted. The wood is a little more fancy than we were expecting having ordered "Knotty rustic hickory" SOO as my sister says, we'll just have to settle with that "new cabinet" look :) Which is great. I love all the space, and they're made reallly well. I will have PLENTY of drawers and cubbards, which i love. YAY for new kitchens!!

I love the bumped up corners. I especiallly like the green "dinasour" on the wall :) (practicing for Lane's Camo room)

you can kind of see the "wear" but the picture didn't do a very good job showing it......anyways....they're great! we're going to put tile above the counter, and Pine above them (which is in, i just didn't put a new pic) I think our kitchen is going to look really awesome when it's all done and the bar is in, so i'm really happy!

Speedy

This is Speedy. Speedy is our new pet chipmunk. Speedy is FEARLESS, and he likes to come in the house at least once or twice a day. He sits on the deck and waits for someone to leave the door open and then bursts inside and hides. It usually takes us half the day to kick him back out. Lane and Speedy are NOT friends. In fact, Lane is terrified of Speedy. We saw him sitting outside our kitchen door hanging on the screen, waiting for us to let him in and Lane just about had a coronary. It took me about 15 mins to calm him down enough that he would let me put him down! This is the best picture I could get of Speedy, because.....well.......the name says it all.

Betrayal

this is actually a really old story, I just kept forgetting to post it. I bought this fish for Lane's bath. It's cool, it's like a hand held shower kind of. Lane thought it was awesome and loved having fishey rinse him off after baths. Well, one day we were working on drywall i think, and we hear this screaming from the bathroom, and then Lane RUNS into the room we were working in screaming a crying "fiiiiisheeeeeeeeeeeeeey"!!!! Then i heard the water running and looked at lane and he was soaking wet. I just busted up laughing (much to lane's dismay....he wanted JUSTICE!!!!) So I went in the bathroom and lane had been playing with the faucet running and pulled the little knob that turns the shower on, and poor fishey was thrashing around spraying the whole bathroom. It was pretty helarious, but no more fishey for lane.....he was terrified after that. If i even mention fishey he gets mad.....talk about holding a grudge!

lumber jack in training

Here's Lane helping daddy limb some logs we're going to use for handrails....he's getting quite handy with the chainsaw.

Lane is such a good little helper....i love it. He helped me load up the wheelbarrel all day on saturday to haul stuff to the fire, he LOVES to be outside, and is becoming quite the adventurer. I've caught him trying to go down the driveway to the pond, and wandering off into the trees, and climbing up huge hills......it's actually kind of fun becuase he's going to be a GREAT hiking partner :)

MIracles do happen!

Well, if you didn't notice the new little ticker at the top,.....then.......LOOK AGAIN!!!!
Yup, that's right. After 1 1/2 years of trying (and multiple rounds of drugs) we're finally pregnant!!! :) YAAAAAAY!!!!!! We are so so so excited, and I'm feeling well....despite breathing in too many spray paint fumes from Lane's room :) We're about 9 weeks along, and I just had my first dr's appt today. Our due date is November 15-ish. I go back in 2 weeks for the full exam and an early ultrasound, so we'll have updates then.....maybe there's more than one in there!! :) Anyways, that's our big news!!! WOOO HOOO!!

more updates.

This week was pretty crazy at the house. Once again, scott has demonstrated his super human powers......we got all our sheetrock done this week! What took me 2 weeks to mud/tape all my first coats, scott came in and sanded, 2nd coated, and textured, and primed in about 2 days......he was tired of waiting for me.....and I'm ok with that :) they really turned out great though and i'm SOOOO glad to put away my mudding tools.....ick....here's some rooms that are "done"
this room isn't sheetrock, it's the loft, but i just wanted to show everyone how cool it turned out...

here's the impulse-buy-at-9:30 PM-at-home-depot "KID" bathroom....not much of a kid bathroom really, but it'll be fine :) I'm not allowed to put any "decorations" up till final inspection is passed.....so there will be more things on the walls.

the laundry room/mud room......yay for BLUE. It'll look good with the slate-looking tile we're using in there

here's the "nursery" beige.....so could go either boy or girl......someday

there's another "spare" room that's just white....cuz i couldn't pick a color....so maybe it'll get painted purple or something. I don't know.

Let's take a vote...

Ok, so here's Lane's amazing room. TELL me that any little boy wouldn't be SO jealous of this room...:) Scott is actually jealous of this room. Ok....so here's our attempt at camo-painting. It was really fun, we made a bunch of stencils and spray painted away..... We think it turned out pretty fun....

So the rest of the decor will follow suit. My mom is making a hunting/outdoor blanket for his bed....(right mom :)) and i found some really fun stuffed deer and elk animals that will become stuffed "trophies" hanging on the wall. The room will also feature a little gun rack for his cork rifle, and here's my favorite.....i'm going to get a big teddy bear and slice him open to make a little bear rug for his floor.....HAA HAha.....isn't that fun!?? Ok so here's the voting part.....my friends at work were teasing me mercilessly for our choice of decor for Lane's room, and so I want to take a pole of my blogging readers. Do you think this idea is TOTALLY redneck or is it cute. Be honest....i dont' care, i'm doing it anyways :) I'm just curious thanks

thank you gramma!

This is the SWEET tool bench my mom got for Lane for his birthday. Here's some pics of him with it, mom. He LOVES it! :)
