So I looked out the window and.........

YIKES!!!!!

I just brought in my groceries and i was feeding Lane some lunch, and I look out the kitchen window and there he was!!!! I thought it was a big black dog at first, then i looked again and realized it was a bear!!!!! I ran to get my camera and forgot to even show Lane before he ran back into the woods. So add one more animal to the count, now there's turkeys, deer, BEAR, and oh....don't forget the coyotes that woke us up last night howling outside my window......i'm pretty sure that they ate one of my kitty cats last night!!! oops....:)

Phase 1

We have cleared our building site! We've also passed our test holes for our septic and are waiting for approval on our design for our permit. Scott is meeting with the well guy this morning so hopefully we'll have our well by the end of the week! Once that's in we can get our building permit, and then the real fun begins and we can start digging the foundation!
this is the building site view from the front right corner.
more building site
this will be the view from my front door. The little road you see is actually our driveway. The driveway comes up and does a big circle around the place where the house/yard will be.

This is for you, Cherringtons!

That's right, Jade and Chris!!! We bought a camper!!!!!!!!!!!! After we teased you mercilessly and vowed that we would never own a camper, we bought this fabulous, 1970 camper!! :) It's actually in really good condition and we bought it to put on our property so Scott will have a place to sleep when he's working on the house late, and me and Lane can come stay on the weekends. Once we get water and power at our place, we might just move in here till the house is done! We'll see.....i'm thinking this interior design is pretty sweet, i might carry it on to the house :)

Amazing Gramma

So my gramma is amazing!!! She is 85 years old and still can crawl around on the floor playing with the babies. I LOVE it!! I want to be like her when I am that age. Lane had lots of fun playing with his great gramma, and i had lots of fun watching them :)

sitting under her quilt rack....seriously...I've had 40 year old patients that had no prayer of sitting on the floor on purpose....let alone getting UP if they WERE on the floor! :)

Gramma showing Lane the back of the quilt

Grampa Con, Lane and Gramma. Lane refused to look at the camera :)

Who is that masked man!??

Lane eating breakfast incognito thanks to his cousins.

Shoes!!!

So Lane is obsessed with shoes!!!! I really have NO idea where he inherited that because i think that me and scott COMBINED have maybe 7-8 pairs of shoes. But that's not the scary part.....the disturbing part is that he's mainly obsessed with womens church shoes..

I take comfort in the fact that at least he can't walk WELL in the pink frilly shoes

This is pretty much how his mama looks when SHE tries to wear high heels

Thank goodness for short heels!!

sort of resembles bambi's first steps on ice :)

Phew!!!! Finally some man shoes. Good job Lane :) Maybe there's hope

Dare devil

So Lane is turning into quite the Evil Kenevil.....this is just one example, standing up in the kayak. He also loves to stand up on his little truck, and electric 4 wheeler. Lately he has graduated to not only standing on the seat while trying to drive them, but then he lets go the handle bar and puts his hands in the air and says "WOO HOO"
Another example of our little dare devil....i was unloading my car today and i let lane play on his little truck out in the front yard. Well there is a hill from where the house is down to where you park the cars. It's not a very big hill but it's a little steep for baby-sized people. Well i was getting in my car and i hear "thud thud thud" I look up and there is Lane on his truck, holding on for dear life rolling down the steepest part of this hill down to the car!!!! I laughed so hard....his little face was a mix of shock, fear, and fun. Then he HAD to do it again a couple times....I probly shouldn't encourage this behavior.....but I'm sure i have the same expressions on my face whenever I go through a rapid in a raft :)
