Halloween: Take #1

We went to our church's Halloween party this weekend, and had a good time. Lane was a non-scary vampire, Lucy and Macy were butterfly/tinkerbell/fairies :)

I got to "decorate" a room for the trick or treat, and the easiest thing i could think of was to get a TON of glow sticks, and hang them from the ceiling for the kids to walk through in the dark to get to me and the candy :)  It was a hit!
Lane and Lucy  in our "glowy room"

The girls...Macy's wings are on the floor behind her.  She gave up on them promptly after we put them on her :)

Lane showing off a prize from one of the games? And lucy's wings which apparently I put on upside down.  Who knew the little wings go on the bottom??? OH well :)

Lane loves his vampire teeth :)

I didn't take any pictures of Baby Luke's costume.  He was a pumpkin :)  He'll wear it again for trick or treat, so stay tuned.  That pumpkin costume has come in VERY handy for the past 3 fall babies we've had!!

Happy Halloween!!!

Pumpkin fest!

We finally carved our pumpkins for Family home evening last night!  Lane definitely enjoyed it the most this year. The girls could take it or leave it but they were good sports!

Lane is getting so big! He traced his face, scooped out the guts, and cut most of the face by himself!

Macy was more content just to draw on some paper

Lucy gladly let daddy help her...

She eventually gave scooping a try

mmmmmmmmm pumpkin guts

Lane's pumpkin was half rotten on the inside! Yuck!!

"Ta-Da!!"  all scooped

cool hat :)

Lane concentrating very hard on cutting his pumpkins eyes out.  Notice the tongue :)  We call this "grampa Bill tongue"  Runs in the family I guess when a task requires extra concentration and effort!

The finished products.  Macy's, Lane's, Lucy's.  Macy's pumpkin is sad because she was apparently having a rough day.  She actually scribbled on the pumpkin enough to make a face out of it, and that's what it ended up being!!  :)

Happy Almost Halloween!  We still don't know what we're dressing up as around here! :) Oh well.

Birthday Girl!

Our little Macy, aka May-May, turned 2 this week!  Now I officially have 2 two-year olds for a couple weeks :)

We had a pretty low-key birthday this year, but Macy had a good time, and enjoyed singing "happy birthday" lots of times. Whenever anyone said, "happy birthday, Macy!"  She would respond with, "Happy birthday too!" Cutie....

I had to post this picture of Macy, it's her mischievous smile....but this picture is the spitting image (minus the long hair) of Scott when he was little!!!!

My 2 Two-year olds!

Kind of a lame cake, sorry Macy :)

She wasn't sure about blowing the candles, but she gave it a go....needed a little help from mama to get the job done (hence no pictures :)

the CRIB!  what a fun present. Lane helped put it together and was so excited to show Macy all it's features and how to make the mobile make music.  He's such a cute big brother!  Lane also gave Macy a clam shell and a bob-the-builder tool set (that he no longer needed :))  He wrapped them up and was so excited to give his little sister a birthday present!! I Love it when our kids show their love for each other.....in NICE ways :)

Checking out the goods

Story time with Gramma Nette!  We don't get to see Nette very often so it was so fun that she could come!  We love you, Gramma!

Happy birthday, Macy! We love you!

Getting ready

Lane is super excited for Halloween this year!  One day we made some lanterns, and I thought they turned out pretty fun.

I didn't get any pics of the kids actually painting them :( but here's Lane's and Macy's.  Macy was a little trooper, she painted the ENTIRE thing herself and was very deliberate with her colors, and covering all surfaces!  She might be my little artist! :)
they were trying them out in the bathroom to see them glow.  Lucy lost interest at this point, I think :)
little cuties....this year should be pretty fun with trick or treating!  I won't have to carry or push anyone in a stroller!! I'll just have the carry the one inside me! :)  Now we just need to figure out what everyone is going to be.  Wish us luck :)

Little sister

I was making dinner the other day, and Lucy was sleeping on the couch in the living room. I head a little whimper so I went to check on her and found this:

After I chuckled at Macy's "hat" I said, "what are you doing??"

So she moved over and showed me that she had "tucked" Lucy in for her nap......with a kitchen towel.

And apparently given her a train too. :)  What a cutie....she'll be such a good big sister for Baby Luke.

4 weeks to go!

Today i'm 36 weeks!  4 weeks to go (hopefully) before Baby Luke comes!  I need all the time I can get to get stuff made and ready for his room!  :)
