"where's my OTHER daddy?"

Well, Scott has been officially traumatized for life.....

Scott shaved his beard off the other day after Lane went to sleep. When Lane woke up the next morning, he runs into our room as usual, and when he gets up on the bed, he stops and has this confused look on his face and says,..." Where's my other daddy??" We ask..."what other daddy?" Lane says,..."My PERFECT daddy" Scott says...."what?? *I* am your daddy".....lane says...."no....my perfect daddy has a beard" That was it. Scott almost cried I think. He swore he was never going to shave again. THANKS lane! :)

Lane did warm up to him after a while....but then yesterday we were hanging up some pictures, and we hung up a picture of Jesus. Lane says..."is that my friend Jesus?" Scott says.."Yup" Lane says something to the effect..."Hmm.....well JESUS has a beard" I forgot what else he said but he was basically telling his Daddy that he should be more like Jesus :)

Yipeee for 3!

Lane is 3!! We had a little family party for him on Sunday, and had lots of fun. We made him a bear cake and he thought that was lots of fun. He wouldn't let me take a picture of his sweet superman cape i made, but he wore it almost all night.

Opening a sweet light saber sword that Gramma Nette gave him. He wouldn't admit it was a sword, it was a gun to him.....it makes noise and lights up! very cool....

Scott tried his hand out at making balloon shapes. He made this fun party hat...

All in all a good birthday. It started out a little rocky at about midnight when lane woke up scared, and opened his door to be attacked by the balloons i hung from his door way as a surprise for the morning. Poor guy, he was pretty terrified! Then church was a little rough cuz he fell asleep almost all through the first two hours, and that is just never a pretty picture. SOOOOOO anyways it ended up good and our little guy is now a big 3 year old!!! Happy birthday Lane!

Cuteness

SO we got 12 chicks....they are an experiment for us to 1. see if we can keep them alive 2. see if they will give us eggs 3. See if we like it enough to get meat hens next year.

It's been a week and they are all still alive...despite finding Lane out in the coup every once in a while. He thinks they are pretty funny except the one that "Bit his finger" He is a good little helper....he has gone out with scott almost every morning to check on them and feed them! hopefully he'll be good at getting the eggs, because I'm a little scared of that part!

Long live the King

Lane has been on a super hero- King kick lately. He always wants his "cape" on, and usually carries a rope or a "staff" Here is is posing as a proper king should....very serious business

But then decides even Kings need to smile sometimes...

He even takes time to kiss the babies...what a lucky girl i am to have such a great little King!

4 Months!

Miss Lucy had her 4 month check up a little while ago. Here's her stats.

Height 24 1/2 in

Weight 13-ish lbs

head: 15 ish in (7% percentile)!!! but don't worry she's a genious.

Her other stats were in the 45% ....so she's a little tiny thing! I have no idea how THAT happened, but whatever. She's SO strong though...and tougher than tough. She is almost sitting by herself, she LOVES to stand, and she only lets out a slight wimper when her older brother wails on her (on accident of course)

Lucy is helarious. She LOVES to talk, but ONLY at home. Lane has taught her (or vice versa?) this bizarre scream/yell/darth vader noise.......it's really funny and she'll just tell all kinds of stories with this "voice" i love it. She's VERY ticklish which I LOVE! She LOVE LOVE LOVES her big brother. They adore each other actually. the first thing lane does is the morning is run into our room and go straight to lucy and make her laugh and smile and coo at her. And if she's NOT in there he says..."where's lucy!??"

I had lucy all day with me and i noticed that when we got home, she just LIT up! she was soooo happy to be home.. She wasn't fussy when we were out, but she wouldn't laugh or smile for anyone, but the second we got home she was all smiles and stories. SOO she might be a home-body....we'll see.

She is such a good baby, we love her so much!

back in action

Well we finally got a new computer monitor after ours blew up a few weeks ago!! Lots of updates, but we'll just go for the pictures :) Commence the blogging!

Anniversary part 2

For day two of our anniversary we decided to spend the day being outside and having fun...so we went for a big dirtbike ride up in the moutains behind our house. SOOOOO fun!!! we found some sweet trails, and really pretty scenery, and LOTS OF mud :) and i didn't even wipe out! Impressive. Kind of crazy that i'm terrified of skiing, but didn't think twice tearing through the mud, or climbing up a big long hill on my dirtbike? Hmmm..

Scott....he had to ride my other little bike..it isn't really made for these kind of roads so he was all over the place but had fun.

Griz came with us, and ran for about 2.5 hours straight...he was in heaven when we found puddles... :)

Anniversary part 1

We decided to make our anniversary a two day affair. Day one, we took the kids out for a date to Wonderland, dinner, and ice cream! mmmmmmmm....good times had by all, but probly the last time we take our kids to wonderland. it's kind of rediculous actually after having to screen almost EVERY game there, including the south park game that we had to pry lane away from after hearing cuss word after cuss word, and the skanky music blaring in the background. I think we'll try Chuck E Cheese next time....

Entertainment

So we were wondering, how do you keep your kids entertained while you're cooking dinner? Lane is particularly fond of playing in the sink, but this is getting to be a very messy option.

He also likes to wash my veggies....tonight i just let him wash the WHOLE bag of carrots :)

Lucy is a bit easier. She is mostly content with a blanket and her hanging bear to stare at.

well...stare at and CHEW on of course.
