Camping: Take #2

This is more like it!

We finally made it camping! We went up to Powers Lake...one of our go-to spots.  It has a fun, FREEZING creek, and we caught a few huckleberries this time! woo hoo!!  Luke LOVED picking huckleberries. It was awesome, as long as he was plopped down in front of a full bush, he was a happy camper :)  I love spending time out in the woods as a family. It's probably one of my most favorite things! I hope our kids remember these times as they grow old and look back with good memories!

Camping attempt #1

Well we had planned to go camping ALL week! Then the weekend came it was totally rainy!!!  So we didn't want to rough it in the rain but we still wanted to do something fun.  SO off to Silver Mountain!  We stayed in the hotel and played in the water park.  I LOVE that we can do fun stuff like this with our kids. We are so blessed.  They had fun in the water park, once they weren't so scared of the stuff. :) Lane is getting pretty brave and played on the Surfing ride for a long time, and Lucy LOVES big water slides.  Luke had to get used to the idea of slides at all and Macy got pretty brave as the day went on...until the giant bucket of water totally dumped RIGHT on her.....:)  But she's a tough little girl and kept playing for the most part!  So much for "camping" but i'm sure well try again another weekend!

STORMS

We had TWO really crazy wind storms in about 2.5 weeks. We lost power for a week with the first one.  Then had power for 2 days, and lost power for another week! It was pretty crazy, and a good reminder of why we need to be prepared. Here are a few shots of some of the casualties....

Rides

We took Bonnie's family for a 4-wheeler ride back in the state land in the back. It's one of our favorite things to do in the summer. There are SO many trails back there that we still need to discover! But today we went to the stream with the big culvert. We need to name that little stream I think......How about Tunnel Stream.  :) Anyways, the kids had a blast riding in the trailer and playing in the creek.  We are so blessed to live in such a fun and beautiful place! I can't imagine our life anywhere else!
