CARPET!!!!

So......we......got.......CARPET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  There's nothing else to say, really.  It's amazing, and weird, and overwhelming all at the same time.  I walk around and don't quite know what to do with myself because our house is 99% done!!!  I love love love it, and it's SOOO nice to walk around and not worry about getting splinters, or dust, or whatever else on your feet because there is glorious carpet! :)  My pictures aren't the greatest because it was at night, and I was too excited to pay attention to my camera, but here's a sneak peak at our finished house!!!

 TV room/loft

 Master Bedroom

 My Craft room!!!

 game room/bonus room

 Guest Bedroom
 Living Room
 Check out those Trusses!! LOVE!

This is pretty much the little boys' permanent position now....they LOVE having carpet, and are so thrilled to be able to run everywhere now without the dangers of construction! :)  They have been troopers, for sure :)

Hopefully as we unpack and set up rooms I can get some real "after" photos and do a good photo tour of the house, but right now I am just relishing in being "done"   :)

We have a basement!

Well we had a big weekend!  We got our footings poured on Friday, then Saturday we put together our basement with foam block!  Pretty exciting to see some progress on the house, and thankful for all the helpers that came out to play on Saturday!

I was busy helping baby Joey when they were pouring concrete so I had Lane take my camera out and take some pics of the events :) So this is pouring footings through the eyes of a 9 year old :)

Fast Forward to Saturday!  I didn't take any pics along the way that day but here's the end product!  Apparently my camera was on a funky setting and they are blue pics..haha :) Oh well you get the idea....
Garage in the foreground and basement in the back left.  The Garage and breezeway still need foundation walls formed up....hopefully this week after work...

Ta-Da!!!! Basement!  These foam blocks were really cool, and the guys had a blast putting them together.  It was like giant legos! They  were in heaven :)  I helped Scott make the window forms....and that was pretty much my contribution to the day!

The 3 windows along the back wall are 3 kid bedrooms....
Pretty fun stuff!!!  Now if only we can get our building permit!!!!  So we can really get going and start framing!

Backhoes and Footings!

Well with all the baby excitement subsiding, we are slowing getting back to work on the house!!  So we've gotten the septic system in but I didn't really take pictures of that, because it's not very exciting, but rest assured it looks great!  SO now we're back in the big hole and Scott and crew have been working hard to get the footings in and level!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh can't get enough of the view out the " future backdoor"
Part of the "big hole" It's hard to get the hole thing in one shot.....because I don't feel like climbing up on one of the huge boulders to get a good shot :)  This is mainly the water line hole (right) And the garage hole (left)  It's full of sand from digging and digging the solid rock to get the hole deep enough......crazy times
Luke hanging out with the backhoe. Him and Eli totally love riding with daddy (what little boy DOESN'T??)  Luke is perfectly content out in the dirt piles :) I love these little boys of mine....They have been sledding down the big pile of dirt on their snow sleds. It's pretty hilarious really...I should try and get some pics of it...:)  Crazy kids....

This is the garage hole from another angle.  So Garage (far right) then there's a breezeway/hallway connecting the garage and the house that's in the middle of the pic,....then far left it starts to go down into the big hole (basement)
here's the basement......those ROCKS!!  I still can't get over how many crazy boulders we have up here.....
starting the footings forms.  Septic tanks on the left....we had to do a pressure system that requires two tanks (yay for us) We're going with these plastic ones this time....they're much easier to work with than the concrete ones, so hopefully they'll work out for us!
Lucy climbing out of the big hole.......
 Macy helping daddy
Alan and Scott...trying to figure out how much farther they have to dig out to make the forms square...

Scott, Alan, Jason, and his friend working on leveling. We had quite a bit of leveling to do with the forms (darn!) We thought we had it a little better with the excavator...but...oh well....
Lucy and her puppy :)

Forms are all up! Ready for inspection, so hopefully we can pour this week!
See the "steps" ?  Those are how they keep the footings continuous up to the level of the breezeway....that was something new I learned this week :)

I thought the steps were pretty cool..:)
The square thing in the middle is the footings for our sweet fireplace......it's ahhhhhhmazing....but super heavy so we needed to carry the weight all the way thru to the basement/footings
Can you tell we have a couple mini-construction hopefuls around here??
Breezeway and garage
ahhhh the view

This is just to show my family in Ohio and elsewhere that yes, I am still alive :)
My "Yard"! I've cleared out all the big bush things now I just need to go through and weed whack all the small brush so I can see what it looks like and where I want to put yard/playground/garden/orchard.......next year.....:)
 these rocks!?!!!! so crazy
Look you can see the lake from the back of our house spot
I lied, I did take a pic of the septic system
the homestead.....we're building quite the commune here!!! We have 3 campers now, and some friends/family staying up here for the summer now! Party at the Woods!
Lane's new go-kart!!  we have the sweetest neighbors ever!
Me and Alan built the little boys a sand box with the extra sand from the septic system :)  they LOOOOVE it!

SO that's the updates from the last couple weeks!! We have our foam block coming on wednesday for the foundation!  Progress!
