Good bye Easter egg
So here is my project this week. I got the "kid" bathroom mudded/taped, SANDED, we textured, primed and painted it today. Now Scott can lay the tile tomorrow and we can put a toilet in there on Monday! WOO HOO!!! hello civilization!! The bathtub in there is ready to go, we just need to buy a shower head, and a faucet then we can shower while we stay there! Life doesn't get any better than having a toilet, a shower and HOT water!!! I turned on our hot water the other day and just sat there on the edge of the tub and let it run on my hands for....way too long...
ANYWAYS........Here's my bathroom.
Scott just commented "thats really red" yes, it is.....why? Because my A-frame house looked like a giant Easter egg.....so I am branching out a little and going with some bolder colors. I actualy quite like it....it isn't as red as this picture seems. Our tile is kind of an earthy toned thing......and we're tiling 3 feet up the wall, kind of like a tile wanes-coat.....i've seen it done in a couple bathrooms and i think it looks cool....then our kids can run around wet and i won't care cuz it'll all be tile!! it will look very cute when i am done decorating.......in like 10 years :)
Tour continued
These pics aren't very exciting, but just a view of the rooms that are closed in now.
This is the kitchen, The two walls with sheetrocks will have cabinets, and T&G above the cabinets. We get our cabinets Mid-April. The wall with the windows will be T&G, and there's also a big bar that will be below the window closest to you. Scott's decided in all his spare time that he wants to make a log bar,......he's an ambitious one......i LOVE it!
Mechanical room....it will pretty much stay like this, we're not going to finish it. But there will be a freezer in there. WOO hoo!Are you ready for this?!?!
Here's the moment you have all been holding your breath for! Thats right, here's what our T&G looks like on the walls..
Here's the Right side of the living room, there's our fireplace burried behind the sheetrock.
Opposite side of the same room......isn't the pine amazing???
different angle of the right side again......look, it totally looks like a sweet log cabinThere, now you all can see why we were so excited right??? I LOVE IT! It's all starting to come together. Scott has gotten almost the whole 1st floor covered. I've been working hard mudding and taping the second floor sheetrock. Hopefully I can finish before he finishes his T&G (he still has the upstairs hallway and attic) Anyways.....we LOVE IT!

3 years and counting...

We celebrated our 3 year anniversary this week! It's gone by really fast, but we've sure done alot in 3 years! Let's recap: Bought a house, gutted and fixed up that house, started a business, had a baby, rented out our house, bought some property, been homeless, and built (almost) a house! I'd say we're doing pretty dang good. We had alot of fun celebrating....we decided to go stay at this indoor water park place in Idaho. Pretty cheezy but lots of fun on the water slides. We had a nice dinner, got some movie passes, and played at the water park! A great anniversary. Thanks for 3 fun years!! Can't wait to see what the next year brings!
Love you, Scott!
Beginning of the end...
That's right....we got our sheetrock and started hanging it today!! Scott is lucky to have such a buff wife.....I helped him hang everything today, and even learned how to use the new screw gun to screw on the sheet while he cut another one.....it doesn't matter then i only hit the studs behind the sheetrock 75% of the time :) anyways, we got the kid bathroom and the "nursery" all sheetrocked (going back to the build it they will come idea...HA just kidding)
Here is the front corner of the kid bedroom that will be the "baby"-of-the-moment's room

back corner of the nursery. Lane was a big helper today, helping screw on sheetrock, handing daddy the saw, ripping off the stickers that held the sheetrock together. He is such a cutie, and really loves to be in the action.

Here's the finished bathroom. I get to be the mud/taper......joy :)

Hopefully Monday we'll finish the other two kid rooms, and the laundry room. Tuesday we get our shipment of T&G for the rest of the walls....i'lll post pictures, becuase i know that everyone thinks we are crazy for putting pine on the walls, but TRUST US! it's going to look SWEET! It's got the rustic cabin theme going on. We actually found this awesome rustic furniture store, and got some GREAT ideas for some log furniture and log accent stuff that Scott's going to make........someday :)
Here's our two piles of sheetrock. Lane is testing out it's durability.

Here is the first sheets hung! WOO HOO!! this is the ceiling in the kid bathroom upstairs.

If you build it....
They will come.......right??
I decided to test out this old quote by crocheting a baby blanket.....:) Just kidding. I actually just wanted to make one, and i happen to have about 8 friends that are currently pregnant, so i'm sure it will go to good use somewhere.

Actually i forgot one....9 friends that are preggo right now, bringing the grand total to like 14-15 babies that have come since we've been trying for number 2. I'm really not a big complainer, but i'd just like to say for the record, that infertility sucks. There, i said it....now i can move on with my life, and keep crocheting baby blankets......even if they aren't for MY baby :)

Camo and Tools
Today was a fun day at the house....we started up the furnace, and heated up the house, and turned the water line (after a long day's battle with a frozen main pipe into the house.....) and after fixing a few minor leaks, we are ready for our inspection!!! hopefully they'll come on friday, and PASS US so we can start putting up sheet rock next week! WOO HOO!!!
Lane also enjoyed the heat in the house, and had lots of fun playing with daddy's tools and tool belt. Looks like i need to make Lane a belt so he can put his OWN tools in it....

These are Lane's (one of many) camo pants. These are from Lane's cousin, and they are probly about a size 4. They dont' fit him at all, but they tie, and we kind of tie a string around his waist to hold them up becuase he LOVES them! And they're pretty cute....and hey.....maybe he'll be able to wear them for a few years.Friday, February 27, 2009
Let there be LIGHTS!!!
That's right! We FINALLY got our power turned on today. After a long 7 month battle, we finally turned on the lights in our house without the generator!! WOO HOOO!!! now, the fun begins and we can turn on the furnace, and get going on the inside wall coverings.
we also ordered our cabinets today, and the insullation guys started today and got ALL the exterior walls insullated on all three floors...ROCK ON GUYS!! Tomorrow we'll be all insullated and then next week hopefully we'll get our final framing/plumbing/insullation inspections passed, then we can start putting up our sheet rock and T&G Pine. AAAH!!!!!! how exciting is that. We will shortly be finishing one of the bathrooms so that we can start camping out there! SWEET!
Here are just some of the poles leading to our house......the PUD guys had to cut down more trees as they went so it's kind of a mess up there....but oh well....

Never say never......
I've had to eat my words twice this week......For years, i watched my mother crochet and thought to myself "i will never do that...." then she suckered me into it somehow.....then i watched her crochet baby booties, and i was POSITIVE that I would NEVER be so lame as to make baby booties.......so at some time this week i found myself on the couch crocheting not one, but like 3 pairs of booties!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't take a picture of them cuz i am still in denial.....
#2, I have thought often in the past 23 months how LUCKY i was to have a baby that was never pukey! Sooooooooooo today Lane comes up to our room and kind of dry heaves and pukes a little in our room and we blew it off like a random mishap......then we trotted off to town to look at cabinets, and on the way home, i look back at lane and he has this sour look on his face, then proceeds to projectile vomit all over the back seat of the car......so we pull over really quick, clean up what we can, use EVERY LAST WIPEY in my car, and think....."wow, there's no way he's got any more in him" so we load him back in and proceed home.......almost home, and round 3 comes in with more violent episodes and by this time poor Lane is covered in green vomit, and SO sad, i have no more wipeys, so i try to comfort him as best i can as he smears puke over his face from wiping his eye and hair.....and i rub his head till he fell asleep.....SO SAD!!!......and discusting....(Disclaimer: no i didn't let him sleep in his puke all day, when we got home i woke him up and threw him in the bath tub.....) anyways.....he's actually feeling better and took a long nap and no more puking after his nap......
sooo i have officially tackled one more milestone in motherhood of the projectile puking toddler. That deserves some treat right??? i think so.

laziness
lane guarding the porch
more rides
here are some updates from the past month. Since i'm too lazy to have a separate post for each event, they are all combined. You'll figure it out. We have moved again...solidifying our label of nomads...........and so my time of posting has deminished. Word from the power company is that they will start drilling on monday! Our electrician SHOULD finish tomorrow, then we can get inspected, then insulated, then we can camp out at our house, ending our career of homeless vagabonds. YAY here's some fun from this month
