Meeting big brother Lane

Getting home...

Hospitol shot...
She's already changed so much these past few days.....she just keeps getting cuter. I really need to stop and take some good pictures of her....but i'm a little stunned at having TWO babies...as soon (if i ever??) learn how to handle two at the same time, i'll take and post some more pictures :)

Pass the Casor oil please.....

So i'm seriously considering this. My mom tried it with one of her babies, and it worked! i don't remember being so impatient with Lane but i'm going CRAZY waiting for this baby!!
Any other tricks out there that people have used to convince their babies that they wanted to come out?

Happy Halloween!!

Lane the Hunter
No time to look at the camera

Sweet binoculars to see the animals

Lucy the Pumpkin. You KNOW you have a cool mom when she can dress you up while still in utero. :)

Hope everyone had a fun halloween!! Lane had fun trick or treating....he thought that was a GREAT game to knock on people's door and get candy! He said "trick or treat" MOST of the time, and actually braved some "scary" porches with talking skulls, and scary noises. He's a trooper.
He's even learning some of mom's tricks.....while we were walking I asked if I could have a piece of his candy....he says..."ummm no, you wouldn't like it...it's yucky!" hmmm must have used that one on him too many times!!

Mom, what's on our house??

Is what lane says to me yesterday when he came to wake me up....
It took him a minute to remember what snow was, but then it clicked and he immediately says, "I want to go outside and play in it!!!"

soooooo we did....it was really wet yucky snow, but it broke in his new snow pants well :)

just a view of the snow....it was a pretty but foggy day all day. We really only got like 1.5 inches, but it was fun

testing the snow.....didn't anyone tell this kid never eat the first snow of the year?

his favorite position all day. Belly flopping onto the ground....

yeah...this is what most of our firewood still looks like...ooooops. Well at least this gives me something else to try if this baby still decides she wants to be slow about coming.....Does splitting firewood induce labor??? I'm willing to try it.....

Pepto Bismal anybody?

What happened to me???

I always swore I would never decorate my baby girl's room in pink......

I'm a sucker...that's what happened to me.....:) But c'mon, you have to admit, it's pretty cute!

So here's the overview of the room...from the doorway. There are still a few finishing touches, like a little corner shelf to the right of the window to put my old-lady hat-lamp on.

Here's the "fun" wall....i found these polka dot stickers at walmart. Ok, let's me honest, everything I bought for this room is from walmart!! I LOVE WALMART!

Yup, the letters are made, there's no turning back. It's "Lucy" :) Because I am NOT cutting out more letters. That was a pain in my booty. I couldn't sand them enough to make them look good, so I ended up covering them with scrap book paper, and I think they turned out pretty darn cute. YAY for scrap wood.

Scott made me the little shelf....MUCH to his dismay. He CLAIMS that he hates helping me make my crafts, but I KNOW deep down he secretly enjoys it. Why else would he take the power tools away from me everytime I try to make something out of wood???

This is a little temple mirror I actually made with my Young Women's group...I donated mine to Lucy. They're really easy if any of you YW leaders want to know how we did it.

Just a couple pictures....I have more to hang up but I need to make some frames first....someday.

Here's the quilt I made. My second attempt at machine quilting. A little more successful than the first, but only becuase I just stitched around the boxes. Nothing fancy :) But I think this, the curtains, the little diaper holder, and the bumper cover turned out pretty good for not using any patterns...

and the grand-rediculous-finalle! The closet. This baby has BY FAR more clothing than I do....which isn't really saying much....BUT anyways... JUST for the record...I have bought maybe *2* articles of clothing for this child, and they were on clearance. Everything else in this closet was given to me by very generous friends ( I LOVE HAND-ME-DOWNS) and a really fun Baby shower from the ladies at church, (THANKS guys!!), and other really SWEET people that want Lucy to be well-clothed.
SO...there is it....see, baby?? We're READY you can really come ANYTIME now!!!! :) Your mama is WAY more organized this time around.... When we brought Lane home from the hospitol, i had not unpacked anything from my baby shower, and I had to tear through to the room to find any diapers in the middle of the night :) NOT pretty....

Any day now..

Well...I'm ALMOST 27 weeks. After Sunday, we're ready for the baby to come anytime. Me and the baby have discussed it, and she's in FULL agreement, and will cooperate......our mother-daughter relationship is already off to a good start......:)

Now that i've said that, she'll probably come 2 weeks late.....*ugh*

Oh well, here it is, folks. 36 weeks and counting......from both angles....

Not sure which side is better, either way you look at me, I'm pretty sure that i'm ready to pop
I should look back at preggo pics of lane....i'd bet that I'm just as big with this one....I thought girls were supposed to be smaller?? Maybe it's good if she's a little on the brute side...that will help her to stick up to this guy:

She's gonna need all the help she can get :)

A.M.A.

Do you think my Dr. would approve of this???

Good thing he won't see it!

Scott got me an early birthday present. It's a pretty sweet motorcycle and almost like new! It's street leagal, but i'm not sure if i'm brave enough to ride on pavement yet. I'm ok with dirt.
Me and Lane have been going on our daily rides around the lake....he LOVES it, except he always tells me to go "faster." Hmm....maybe in a couple more weeks when i'm TRYING to put myself into labor, buddy :)

obsessions

Some people are obsessed with TV, some with exercise, books, music, food, the list goes on forever. *I* have an obsession with making things. I'll admit it. And most of the time *I* am the only one that appreciates or admires what I make. I'm ok with that :) Admittedly, most of the time things are alot cuter in my head than they actually turn out in real life, and I'm ok with that too.......

Here are some of my latest inventions.....

This is a table runner that I actually started like two years ago, and finally finished....it's just stitched patterns but it turned out fun....

Here's a little fall stitchery....stitcheries are my latest form of obsession...they are SO FAST and cute... I can't decide if i want to frame this or turn it into a little wall hanging.

This lamp just makes me laugh. It's like an old lady hat. I have all these flowers from my wedding.....i LOVE daisies....My friend told me i should make a lamp for our baby's room....not sure if this is what she had in mind, but this is what happened. I can't decide if i actually LIKE it, but i'm going to use it because if nothing else, it's kind of funny :)

Here's the curtains I came up with for the baby's room. The panels are just brown so i can leave them for a boy....you can't see very well with this picture, but the bows/stripe on the valence are brown with pink polka dots. I seemed to have liked polka dots when i picked out fabric for the baby room....the quilt i think will turn out cute. if i ever get it done.......

Random

Some random pics of Lane-ard.
Here's his "work glasses" He puts them on so it squishes his eyes down and it's pretty funny. He looks alot like Ralphie again in this picture..

Sweet bubble bath. Our jetted tub makes the most amazing bubbles, Lane loves it.

what else am I going to do with it?

Before:
After:

I decided to take apart my wedding dress and turn it into baby blessing dresses for my girl(s). I thought it would be a good use for it becuase for the past 3 years it's been curled up in a little ball traveling from garage to basements to other random yucky storage places. SO I thought it would make a really pretty dress for our little girl...we'll see how it turns out!

Budding artist

Scott took Lane to work with him today, and let him play in the back of his truck while he was finishing up something. Well Lane crawled through the back window into the cab, and found a Sharpie.........need I saw more?

It's kind of like having zebra striped seat covers....

He decided he needed some stripes, too....

"see,....i used this!"

It's actually kind of funny, good thing it's a work truck though. I just need to make sure that all the writing utensils INSIDE the house are under lock and key!!

Merry Christmas to you, toys....

Now our dirtbikes, snowmobiles, kayaks, and other various implements of outdoor fun will no longer have to spend another freezing winter out in the snow! They have a home!!!

Doesn't get any better.....

I was leaving for work this morning, and this is what I saw.

I was driving home from work and listening to NPR, and thinking about my pictures I had taken this morning. And I thought, how amazing it is that with all the craziness, and scary things, and problems in the world I get to drive home to this beautiful little untouched oasis and totally forget for a while all the sad things of this world, and just enjoy the nature that God made for us. I have got to be the luckiest person alive.....

Game mounts- Part 1

As part of Lane's room decor, we are making game head mounts for his walls. Here's one we inherited from the great "Grampa Lane" himself!! It's a sweet fish......and he SINGS! it's one of those that flaps his tail and moves his head to sing at you. It's motion sensored, but we have to leave it off when Lane isn't supervised because he has a love/hate thing going on with the fish.
He INSISTS that the fishy sing to him EVERY night before bed, but he won't stand within 6 feet of it.....i think he thinks it's going to bite him or something... If you hold the fish near him he screams with terror but then when it starts to sing and we put it back on the floor he dances his fool head off! Such a strange boy sometimes. SO anyways, we'll get the deer and the elk done eventually.....OH yeah, and the musk-ox too.....Can't wait!

Progress

Well I got some of Lane's Room's projects done. At least now the cardboard on the windows are replaced with curtains, and his little bear rug is done! He seems to like them both. The curtains will eventually have a matching stick on the bottom for weight, but I forgot to buy the eyelets to attatch them, SOOOOO someday they'll get done. But they work for now!

Lane wanted me to take a picture of him saying "cheese"

Lane trying out his new bear rug. He's showing me his "bear teeth"

Here's the curtains...

Full shot of the bear rug....I origially pictured a bigger teddy bear.....but this is what they had at the thrift store. I think it's fun

where's lane!?!? Any ideas on what to do with this sweet camo net???

Millions of peaches....

Peaches for ME!!!! Well i guess i'll share them with my family... THANK YOU THANK YOU Jess and Jade for helping me get my peaches done! I have canned with these girls for 3 years now! It's lots of fun, and lots of work. BUT it's worth it. I think i got about 43 jars of peaches this year......next week......i'm tackling my pears! WOO HOO

weekend projects

This weekend Scott started our "shed." It's really a 16X36 ft "shop" sort-of. For now it will house all of our toys, motorized and sea-worthy. Eventually we'll put lean-to's on both sides and it will hold yard stuff, garden stuff, and whatever else. We're so excited to have a place to store our stuff before the winter! And I'll even get scott's tools out of my pantry so I can actually use it to store food!

Here's one of my cute log ladders for my blankets. Scott made this one. I get to make the one for the attic apparently :)
