Happy New Years!

Hope everyone had a happy new years day! We had a great new years thanks for our friends the Floms!! We felt like losers cuz we had NO plans, so the day before, I called up the floms and thankfully THEY were losers too!! So we were losers together and had LOTS of fuN!!! They came over to our house and we had dinner, played games, did sparklers and stayed up WAY too late!

Lucy had lots of fun on her first new years. She stayed up till 10:30, then decided to sleep for 8 HOURS!!! Of course she does this the night her parents decide to stay up till 4 in the morning, so we didn't even get to enjoy the great sleep!!! Oh well

Lane actually stayed up till midnight!! And did pretty good. He wasn't impressed with the sparklers and was a total zombie at this point. He fell asleep with the girls up in the attic....then about 3:00 am woke up but willingly fell asleep back in his own bed! *whew*

Floms brough sparkling cider. I wanted to shake up a bottle and pop the top and watch it squirt like you always see on tv.....but it didn't work all that well. Good effort though, scott :) Maybe it woulda worked better if we had a bottle opener?!

Christmas!

These are a little late, but here's some pictures from Christmas 09 :)

Lane got some sweet guns, bow and arrow, and guitar!  Lucy had fun hanging out, and we had some family visitors :)  good times, Merry Christmas!!!

well, it's done!! Lucy's blessing dress turned out pretty darn cute!! I'm going to brag on myself for just a minute! I made this dress from my wedding dress, and since I was trying to use specific pieces of fabric for the design, I MADE MY OWN DRESS PATTERN!!! I traced the top from a dress Lucy already has and used that for a pattern....except the sleaves, i had no idea what i was doing for the sleaves. I wanted to use the sleaves that came off my dress and just cut them down. Thats what I did, but don't look too closely at them :) they ended up being different sizes. Overall, i'm pretty impressed with myself. I even lined it!! And it even fits her!!! We are blessing her on Sunday, and will take some pictures of it ON her :)

6 What?!?!?!

Yeah, Lucy is 6 weeks old already....YIKES!!!!! Here's some cute pics of her....

Lucy is such a sweet baby. She is very tolerant of her big brother that likes to TRY and beat on her sometimes....she's starting to "talk" and make little noises, she has lots of big smiles, and is such a fun little girl! We love you, Lucy!

Tradition Experiment #1

So I've been thinking about traditions and which ones I can adapt for my family.....I thought i'd try out the gingerbread house experiment. The dough was gross, and I burned the front and back....BUT it turned out cute :) Probly something the kids would like when they are a little OLDER....but worth a go at it. We'll probly try this one again.....

Lucy is a pretty happy baby....and she has a GREAT smile!!! I haven't really been able to capture her best ones on camera yet, but here's a preview.....I swear she has been smiling since she was like 2 weeks old, but no one believes me.....but you can't argue that it's still gas now :) She is TOTALLY smiling on her own!

I finally got my stockings done!!!!!!!!! I saw this idea like 10 years ago in one of my mom's magazines, and she gave me the pattern this year, and i FINALLY got them done!!....Things take a little longer than they used to these days for me, but they are done before christmas eve so I can't complain :)

We were taking goofy pictures, and Lane totally came up with this pose on his own.....

Which was pretty funny cuz I remembered a really similar picture from my college days at BYU.....

I think the story was that I found my roommates camera, and it had one more picture on it, so i decided to surprise her with a "hello" sign so she'd see it when she got her film developed :) I was such a thoughtful roommate :)
