yaakity-yaak

This week we spend a couple days up near Yaak, Montana. Scott and lane went up on wednesday and i went up on thursday night. Scott's brother Jason, rented a cabin up there to go skiing and we crashed there for a few nights just to come hang out and play. There wasn't enough snow around to do any snow mobiling or snow shoeing, so we just hiked a little and saw some sites, and hung out while Jason and his friend went up to the mountain to ski.....

this was at the kootani river falls.....fun little hike, and SOO pretty. It was really cold this day, but the kids did great!

Here's Uncle Jason with Lucy.

Lane leading the way back to the car.....with daddy's sweet hat

We caught a glimpse of the native wildlife....very friendly and fascinating to watch :)

The Kootani falls. This place will be SO SO fun to come back to this summer so we can play in the water and hike some more. So get ready, Cherringtons....you're coming with us :)

Man....where's my kayak!?!?!?

They had a really neat swinging bridge over the river. I wonder what the original one looked like!? YIkes....this one had big strong cables holding it up, but there was still a sign that said "limit....5 people on bridge at one time" Which made us wonder...hmmm...how do they know that 5 is the limit?? Good thing there's only 4 in our family!!
Scott and Lane crossing the bridge. Lane actually LOVED the bridge. His first comment was "wow! it's like the bridge on Shrek!" is that sad that he relates EVERYTHING to something he sees in a disney movie!?? oh well...
ALmost at the end!

Me and lucy's turn. Lucy also loved the bridge. But her first comment was a big gasp when a gust of wind got her in the face :)

scott and lane on a little bridge over the railroad track. The fencing had caved in on the "roof" and lane asked what happened to it. I told him that those were where the bears slept, so the rest of the walk he pointed out that those were the bears' beds :) hee hee I wonder how long those kind of stories will last!

While we were walking over the bridge a train came!!! that was really fun. But kind of trippy when you stood right over the train and looked down it totally looked like the train was going to run right into your feet.

All in all it was a very fun (but short) trip. When i was driving up there on thursday night i saw a family of Elk in the middle of the highway. I thought they were very light colored moose cuz i'd never seen elk before. But i was informed that's what they were when i got to the cabin. We also had a run-in with a deer driving home last night. Actually the deer decided to hit US. Ran RIGHT up from the side of our car and totally plowed into the side of our car!! luckily there was no damage. But i'm not sure about the deer.
Montana is beautiful...and it was only about 2-ish hours from our house, so it made us itching for summer to go camping! This place will be lots of fun in the warmer weather, so look out, Yaak.
The Woods will definately be back!

Love

I finally got to go to the temple with Scott a while ago. My favorite place with my favorite person....
we hadn't taken a pic of just the two of us in a while, so here it is in all it's glory. Fluffy beard and all :)

tutus

some of my young women got Lucy a little Tutu so I wanted to take some pictures of her in it for them. I haven't edited them to make them all fancy yet, but whatever, they're still fun...

Of course, Lane had to get in on the tutu action as well...

Lane-isms

We were having family home evening on Monday night, and we were talking about prophets. we were showing him pictures of President Monson, and he was learning his name. Then we showed him Uchdorf and Eyring. We went over them a few times and he was doing well remembering their names. The last time we went through we pointed to monson, and he could name him. pointed to Uchdorf, he could name him. Pointed to Eyring and he said....."uhhhhhhh.........President Eye..........LASH!" Helarious
I've told you about lane liking to sing funny songs...during breakfast this morning, he starts to sing a new one...."my mama beat me soooooo hard this morning........" It had a really happy tune, so i almost didn't catch it from accross the kitchen. I said.."WHAT!?!?" So he sang it again.......yeah.....
DEFINATELY need to warn the nursery leader if he starts singing THAT one at church :)
Here's some pics of lane learning to play my saxaphone. He loves it. but he'll only hold the neck piece :) And he had to wear his boot liners while playing...oh...and no pants. He's got his own style for sure!

Friends and General Cuteness

We had our friends the Hamilton's over, and our two little babes were dressed in the same outfit!! So we had to take some pics of the twinners. Their babe is 61/2 months old and Lucy is 2 months old. Olivia is SUCH a smiley baby, it was so fun to take pictures of her!! Lucy is Smiley too, but decided to let Olivia have the lime light that day :)

General Cuteness. Lucy is growing in some amazing long eyelashes....i should take some close ups of her eyes when they're closed.....lucky girl!

Lane had to get in on the picture action. He loves to "cheese" now :) Cuties.

A little late

Here's some pics from our ward Christmas party... Our "manger scene" pics were pretty helarious. We had Lane the "mean guy angel" who knocked over the donkey, and I couldn't stop laughing and Lucy was trying to slide out of her "costume" and blah blah blah.....good times....

Excuse me?

Lane loves to sing. Lane also loves to be goofy. Lane's latest game is singing silly variations of songs.....tonights performance went like this..
"itsy bitsy spiiiiiiiiiider.......
no wait.....
itchy Bi*chy spiiiiiiiiiiiiider..........."
ooooops.....I wonder if we should warn his nursery leaders for singing time?!

Blessing part 2

Today was Lucy's blessing. Scott's mom and sister and neice were able to come so that was cool. Lucy was pretty much asleep the whole time, but they said her binky fell out during the blessing and she had a great big smile on her face the rest of the time :) She knows good stuff when she hears it!! The blessing was beautiful, and she looked like a little princess. I got lots of compliments on her blessing dress so that was fun :) We are so lucky to have this little girl!!! She's such a joy, we love her! Lane was so cute during her blessing, he kept saying, "I want to go help daddy!!!" someday, buddy :) tonight at bedtime, he kept saying *I* want a blessing......how can you say no when a child asks for a blessing?? So Scott gave Lane a little blessing too....it was sweet. It's humbling when your kids say things like that and the weight of teaching them hits you again. Hopefully we can teach our kids about the gospel well becuase they are definately paying attention even when we don't really realize it....

Here's some pics of her in her pretty dress. I couldn't narrow it down anymore than this, sorry :)
