After the pool incident, this is what I found on my porch...and I couldn't help but capture the PURE joy on film. I don't think there's any happier being on Earth than a little boy, naked as a Jay bird, in the summer, running around in the woods, eating a popsicle.....

Who needs a Lake?

Even though we live at a lake with a beach....we decided to get the pool out today. Lane was in Heaven. No matter that it wasn't really THAT warm out...and the water was FREEZING! He was still in Heaven

And of course the shorts HAD to go because they just kept falling off. A problem that will be remedied before heading to the beach....don't worry :)

Notice something missing? Besides the swim shorts? Hmmm..how about GRASS?!??!?! See my desperate need of grass? This "lawn" makes for a very messy "mudroom" And a really mucky pool.....and very dirty children. Here come the daily...sometimes twice a day baths!

Chicken Update

Remember these guys?? Well they're still alive! YAAAY. Despite getting out of the pen, being chased by grizzly bear (our dog), and stalked by Kitty (our cat), and having to be caught by me and scott numorous times..

Look how big they're getting! So fun...They're like mini chickens!

So the count is down to 11....from 12....only lost one as a chick so not too bad! I'm not sure when they will be laying eggs...but at least we know we can get them this far! We wanted to start from chicks to see what it was like because we'd like to get meat hens next year. THAT should make for some fun blog posts....maybe not for the weak at heart I guess :) I'll try and keep the documentary as clean as possible.....for the children who view this blog! :)

My Crazy Chicken anology

I'll tell you the story I told my YW the other week....One Sunday, i went out to feed the chickens and two had gotten out. I'm not a very good chicken catcher, so i chased the chickens around and around and around the pen to no avail. Then i decided to try and sneak up on the chickens. SO i snuck up to the chickens...around and around and around the pen. That wasn't working so i decided to TRAP them. SO i invented a barracade and trapped one and was able to grab her and throw her back over the fence. The OTHER one however, was insane...flapping like crazy, squawking like crazy...just BESIDE herself NOT wanting to get help....All the while almost killing herself trying to run THROUGH the chicken-wire fence to get into the pen. SO I thought on my way to church....hmm.....ya know.....*I* am kind of like the crazy chicken sometimes. I WANT to go in the right place...sometimes i go crazy and almost kill myself trying to do the right things when REALLY i just need to CHILL out and let the Lord help me out. I try and do things on my own alot and end up pretty much like the crazy chicken, when really He's trying to help me all along. SOO my lesson from the chicken was to try and just chill out and let myself be guided more often.

I thought it was a pretty genious anology. I love analogies....I should write a book of them, though they'd probly only make sense to ME :) But that's ok. Hope someone out there can relate to being a crazy chicken like me!

6 months!

Lucy is 6 months old today!! Here are some pictures that I took today. My blogger is being weird again...and won't let me type between the pictures...but anyways..here's some fun facts about lucy at her 6 month mark:

Lucy is a fun loving baby, most of the time. She's a little bit more clingy than Lane was, but she loves to laugh and smile and yell and sing. She LOVES LOVES LOVES her big brother and lights up whenever she sees him. Even when he isn't the nicest big brother. She get so excited at the littlest things and flaps her arms and legs when she sees her bottle, when she sees someone come to get her in the morning, when she wakes up, and random other times. She likes to play and chew on EVERYTHING. She does not have any teeth. She HATES being on her belly for more than 10 seconds. She's super strong and loves to "walk" around holding your fingers. Loves to stand, and be tickeled. She likes peas and sweet potatoes. Not a big fan of fruits. She makes me laugh when she "talks" especially during the entire sacrament meeting at church. She doesn't growl anymore. She has the smily-est eyes and the biggest smiles. We love her and are so happy she's part of our family! We love Lucy! :)

Time Off

Scott hates it when I call him crafty, but I dont' know what other word to use. Check out what he made for me this past little while since he's had some time off!

My blogger is being weird and won't let me write in between pics, So i'll explain them here.... there's some sweet picture frames. An awesome coat rack by our front door. Lane was SO excited about the little pegs for HIS coats. And then my FAVORITE!!! the log bed!!! We have never had a bed frame the whole time we've been married. We've just put our mattresses on the floor. SO i go from the floor to THIS!!!! Isn't it gorgeous!??! He made that bed frame in like 2 days.....he's amazing. So if anyone knows anyone that wants to buy some log furniture, he's seriously considering starting a little side business. But i'm content with just having it for myself :) Now i need to make some more quilts and maybe some curtains for our room....Hmmm

Easter Party

We had a little Easter party at church.  Lane and Lucy had lots of fun :)  

Conspiracy

It's time......it's time to come out publicly about the conspiracy against us!! Where to start.

It started last June when we rented out house to the world's most rediculous, arrogant, stoner. I am convinced that he has instigated this plan to ruin our lives. Fast forward to about Christmas time, when our renter was about 2 months behind on rent......RED FLAG, right!??? Well being the Christians that we are, (not to mention not being able to afford TWO mortgages for SURE) We let him "catch up" and miraculously by Feb he caught up. That is where the real torture began.

At the end of Feb our dishwasher....BRAND NEW Dishwasher broke. No problem....it's under warrenty. I call. They come. They order the parts to fix the dishwasher....all is right and good.

Fast foward to March. The first week of March comes and no rent. Ok, scott calls stoner and says, "where's our rent? Oh and we're coming to do a walk through of the house to check damages and condition" Stoner says, i'll meet you on tuesday. Tuesday comes, stoner's not home. Wednesday comes, stoner IS home but "forgot" to go to the bank, and asks if we can postpone the walk thru to thurs. Thursday comes, stoner is home, "forgot" to go to the bank again, and scott says" Ok i get it that you're not going to pay us...but i'm still doing my walk thru." Stoner turns into Raging stoner and physically refuses to let scott in and almost gets in a fist fight.

Scott leaves, calls the cops. Cops do a raid on the house (OH yeah, stoner has turned our beautiful little house, where we spent HOURS remodeling, and where we started our family into a pot factory). Stoner gets arrested. We call a lawyer (MISTAKE NUMBER 100) We start the eviction process on the grounds of illegal activity. Stoner gets served notice. We wait.

The conspiracy continues. Remember the broken dishwasher? Well we wait the two weeks for our parts to come in. They don't. We call again. "oh....well that order took longer than our specified time so it got cancelled out...call whirlpool." Call whirlpool. "oh we don't have any record of those parts being ordered....here's the number to our super secret special parts SWAT team" Call them...."oh yeah...we'll order them, they'll be there in two weeks." We wait. They never come. We call and say "give us a new dishwasher or we're going to sick our stoner renter on you" SWAT guy says...."Hmmm well i can give you a new dishwasher, or i can give you $100 and new parts...either option will be two weeks out." We take the money and the new part. We wait. Money comes (false ray of light in the conspiracy...things must be looking up) ONE part comes....it's the wrong part. We call. Oh we have the right one, we'll overnight it. Oh, you needed another part? We don't have any record of another part....here's the number for our super secret specia lparts SWAT team...."

Fast forward back to the rental house. So we decide to put the house on the market. Why not, Right? What else could POSSIBLY hurt this case. We give him notice it's on the market, and written notice that we're coming for a walk thru. Morning of walk thru, stoner calls. "if you're really coming today you need to give me a call." Fat chance, stoner. We show up. Stoner actually lets us in. Walks thru. Takes pictures of all the new plants. Meanwhile stoner is trying to convince our friend we took as witness of all the miraculous benefits of the "cannibus" ....MORON....Scott is trying not to rip his toungue out of his face to make him shut up. At the end, Stoner says, "So what's this mean for me?" Scott: "Nothing" Stoner, "Well what comes of this? What do you want from us" Scott (dumbfounded at the arrogance) "What??!?!? We want you out of our house!!!!!!!" Stoner,"well.....I intend to pay you everything I owe you...." Scott leaves.

Fast forward past stoner evading the papers being served, us not being able to get a key witness to testify, and other random "set backs" to the day BEFORE our court date. Lawyer calls and says stoner is fighting us that he didn't do anything "Illegal" Court date gets postponed 2 weeks. Fast forward to a week before our NEW court date. Court date postponed 2 MORE weeks (due to our lawyer sucking). Fast forward to TODAY. Lawyer calls. Says that the police office (where the arresting officer that we are supina-ing to our trial) has sent the lawyer a form that we have to sign agreeing that will will pay this officers hourly wage, plus time and a half, plus milage, plus a supina fee, plus our first born child, in order for this officer (whom WE tipped off so they could get their STUPID arrest) to come testify.

So now we wait.

We've pretty much decided to NOT Pay the fees to supina fees agreement and just supina him the regular way. Because really...at this point....it doesn't even matter. We're so far into it, the least date is almost up anyways, and clearly this is not meant to go our way so why waste anyMORE money. Our lawyer says he's never seen the police do this before (of course he hasn't....it's part of the conspiracy)

So....that's MOST of the conspiracy. I'm leaving out the parts about the contractors that scott has worked for, current work conditions, and lack of being paid by some, etc etc.....because i don't want to sound like i'm complaining or anything.

Did I mention this is all coming through the filter of a pregnant woman's mind as well? This is officially the longest post i've ever written. Sorry for those that actually suffered through reading it, but they say that writing is therapeutic right? Right after a good cry. Now i've done both. I can get on with my day

Yes, we are accepting applications for a live-in Nanny....ha...just kidding.. People have twins all the time and they do ok.....so we'll be fine.

Comedians

Lane is so helarious sometimes....It was snowing the other day, and we were eating lunch. Lane looks out the window and says..."it's snowing...." Me; "yup".....lane, " mom, the snow it talking to you" me: "oh yeah? What's it saying?" lane: " I"M FAAAALLING!!" :) I really should write down more little jokes he comes up with because he really is pretty creative.

Lucy is starting her career as a backup comedian for her big brother. Today during church she happily growled pretty much non-stop through out the entire sacrament meeting, getting especially emphatic and loud during prayers. I love that she growls...i really should video it becuase it's the weirdest noise I think i've heard a baby make before....I'm sure Lane taught her how to do it....oh how she loves her big brother!

Destructor

This is what came to my door the other day.

I said, "lane!!! what in the world is on you!?!?" He says..."I don't know! " He had been outside with Scott so i yell to scott the same question.....Scott says, " it's shaving creme!" Shaving creme....of course....why didn't *I* think of that. Who doesn't have cans of shaving creme laying around in their backyard for their kids to play with.....DUH, Carol :)

This is after we found Lane in my car for who knows how long....he had found my make up bag becuase I leave it in the car, (since that's the only place i remember to put on makeup) Well I guess he's watched his mamma put on make up too many times?? He actually did pretty good with the mascara! Yikes Not sure what he was going for with the nail polish on his face...*I* didn't teach him that one.

Baby Genious

Lucy is a little over 4 1/2 months old, and this week she decided she was going to learn how to sit up. She's very good at it now, and only has occasional fall overs due to extreme excited-ness.

Her daddy also decided that she didn't need to worry about any food allergies and is letting her try everything she can hold.....here she's taste testing a nice sour apple
