Lucy Field Trip

Got to go on the pre-school field trip with these cuties!!!  Lots of fun at the firestation :)

Egg Drop and Last day of School

At the end of 1st grade, our school does the "egg drop".  Each kid gets to pad and egg with whatever he wants then they drop it from the roof of the school and see who's survives.  Lane decided to use spray foam (genious!)  then he spray painted it black.  His first idea was to wrap the egg in rubber bands until it turns into a rubber band ball.....I thought that one would be pretty funny :)

 and after the drop......SAFE!!!! not even a crack!   We had to saw away at the foam with some scissors but we eventually found the egg :)  Success!

This is Mrs. Rash.  She was SUCH an awesome teacher!!! We will totally miss her.  I got to work in Lane's class every wednesday and had a blast seeing how she taught and what the kids were doing!  Lane sure loved her too.  She's actually going to be the new gym teacher at school so at least all my kids will get to have her for something! :)  

On to second grade!  Woo hoo!!

manners

We've been working on manners lately.....and I hear this in the car driving home from school one day: 

Macy: "Lane can I PLEASE borrow your backpack......so I can hit Lucy with it?"

WOW!!!! A-plus for asking nicely, Macy.......I guess we forgot to work on intentions!!!! :)

Mr Snail

During my gardening frenzy, I found a little snail.  Lucy loves snails, so i gave it to her. She played with it for half the day outside, then it was time for baths.  She disappeared for a minute.....

I didn't think much of it, then I came to check on them and she was hiding something....then I realized what she must have!  YUP, mr. snail......so he came and took a bath with the girls and I warned them to be so careful of him and then left them to play for a bit. When I came back to wash and get them out, I looked around and asked where Mr. Snail was and lucy shrugged her shoulders and said, I dunno......So I looked all through the bath the walls, nothin.  Then I asked if she put him out of the bath, and she got a serious look on her face and shook her head, "yes".  I asked where she put him and the pointed to where I was kneeling on some towels.......I quickly jumped up and looked under the towels...and there was mr. snail.  SQUISHED....after all my warnings to them, *I* squished him!!!  sad day... RIP mr snail..

Garden Frenzy

Here's a little sampling of my garden frenzy this year......my flowers totally bloomed!  That I planted from SEEDS! I love it!  Totally doing this again next year :)
