Here's the Manti Temple. I think this is my favorite temple. It is SO pretty and SOOO amazing inside. It was fun to walk about the grounds with the kids.

Just a pretty sky picture or two

the girls weren't too excited about taking pictures

there's a smile

more smiles! I was SOOOOO Sunburned that day....

" lead me....guide me....

walk beside me...."

Lets go fly a kite!

We bought some kites at Grammas. Lane had a blast, and got really good at flying them! Except the part about getting tangled up in the string and tales about 1000 times...

Lane flying
Lucy wanted to try, daddy's getting it ready

She was pretty good as long as the string wasn't let out more than 5 feet :)

Gramma's House

We went to my Gramma's in Manti and had so much fun visiting with her and family. Gramma loves to wear hats. The kids were modeling one of her purple hats :)

Lucy rockin her "cheese" face.

The other favorite thing about gramma's house, is she reads them bed time stories. The kids loved having her read to them!

Playground

While we stayed at my Aunt Leslie's, we took the kids and my cousins kids to the playground. This was our kids' first experience with monkey bars....I think.....

Lucy was more impressed than Lane was..

I love this picture of scott and Lucy...

Scott trying his hand at the monkey bars....

Temple Square

We took the kids to visit Temple Square in SLC while we were in Utah. Lane was excited to finally see a temple. Though the excitement wore off pretty quickly, the kids did pretty well looking at some of the sites and visitors centers there.

I'd never gone up to the top of the Churc Office buildings before. They have tours, and a little observatory on top where you can get neat pictures of the temple.
The girls' first trip to the temple :) I had to take their picture on the wedding picture rock!

What a beautiful building. I think the temple is one of my favorite places to be. I miss the college days when I could go every week.

This was how the girls' looked mostly all day. Macy doesn't mind the stroller. Lucy would still rather walk..

lane clinging to the temple...hopefully that sticks throughout his life :)

catch up

Well the woods are back in town! We survived our road trip to utah-vegas. We had lots of fun, and have LOTS of pics to update, but I'm just doing one tonight before I hit the hay...

Me and Lucy at the cactus gardens in Vegas
It was hot hot hot.....i don't think Lucy has ever felt the heat of summer before....last summer here was so mild, and this year its only been 70 a handful of times....vegas was DEFINATELY a climate shock for our kids... it didn't help much that driving home from vegas, we hit a little SNOW STORM in montana.....home sweet home :) It's been in 60's lately here in Newport......I love it really.....yeah we might not get to swim this summer but i'm ok with that.

So we had to take a token "Vegas" shot....They have slot machines in EVERY store there. This bunch of slot machines was in the "bass pro" shop. We didn't let lane put anything in....don't worry......he had no idea what he was even sitting on...

Lucy testing out the guns at the bass pro shop......binky and all!

Lane with the giant metal Ram

Lucy in the car.....don't let the smile fool you. She actually HATES being in the car. It took several candy bribes, rounds of "popcorn popping" and various other things to keep her from screaming the entire way home....But look at her CUTE car seat cover...I made that before we went! Pretty easy, i just traced the existing cover, sewed it up, and voila!!! Fun

We got to take the Trax train in utah up to salt lake city. Lane LOVED riding the train. The girls could take it or leave it.....it's pretty handy, and we didn't have to find parking in SLC....good times.

those are a bunch of random pics...more to come!!

More Lane-isms

Here's some fun Lane stories:

Me and Lane were wrestling and he says, "STOP!!!! I have to pray!!!" I said, "huh?" He says, " I have to say a prayer!!" So of course I stop and let him say his prayer....."Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, thank you for me to have strength to beat mama, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen" I had to stifle my giggles as he wrestled me and of course won, because....he had super-human strength after that!!!

In church a few weeks ago they sang "I am a child of God" in sacramet meeting. When lane heard the music, he looked up and looked at me all excited, and started singing as loud as he could, and knew pretty much all the words!! It was the sweetest thing i ever heard in my life, and couldn't help the tears.....I'm a sucker when he sings at church.....total basket case during the primary programs....:) ugh.....

Scott and Lane were driving in town the other day, and pulled up next to a guy that had "girly" hair. Lane says...."dad...I saw a GUY that had GIRL hair" Scott says, "yeah sometimes guys have girly hair. " lane says "Why did he have girl hair??" Scott, "well sometimes they just do" Lane thinks for a minute then says,..."I KNOW!" Scott says,,."what" Lane says,.."Maybe he ate too much girl slobber!!!" yup, buddy....gotta watch out for that girl slobber....it'll get ya every time!!

Well I had a whole list in my head, but that's all i can think of right now. I love our little guy, he tells me "I love you" about a million times a day and gives lots of kisses inbetween his craziness :) He makes us laugh everyday, and I can't imagine life without him! I love you Lane!!

A walk at the lake

Sounds relaxing doesn't it!???

well....sort of....

First i have to cram lane's bike, my DOUBLE jogging stroller, and the kids in my van. Then i have to gather bottles, binkies, blankets (because it's still like 50 degrees here) jackets, and water jug. Then we drive down to the lake loop becuase I can't get all the kids back up our hill by myself....

Once we're at the lake we're good to go!

The girls weren't really sleeping yet, just pretending. Macy will sleep on our walks, but lucy wants to get out and walk to...i have to bribe her to stay in the stroller with binkies, and toys!
ready to go!

Lane is getting to be a pro at riding his bike!! We've actually changed bikes since this picture. He's one size up now and goes WAY fast!!! It's so fun to watch, an he totally has his daddy's dare-devil riding tactics. I should video it sometime.....good thing he always wears his helmet!! His favorite tricks are to make "slides" or skid marks, doing "tricks" like lifting his feet up off his pedals while he goes down hills, and "hill climbs", and "crashing"

So pretty!

long road

Here's one of our friends we met along the road. It's turtle season, and they are out all the time now.

Lane was so excited to hold him! He had his "dirtbike gloves" on today so he actualy would pick one up. He wears these gloves every time he goes "dirtbiking"

more pretty

Here's some more friends. There are 2-3 geese families at the lake. These parents have the most kids this year. They are fun to watch...they take their kids out for swimming lessons every day

There's nothing cuter than a little kid playing in the water

Lucy has found a new love....throwing pebbles into the lake

Macy slept while we played at the little boat launch

who needs a bucket....lane played forever filling up this bag with water and making "streams"

There you have it!! that's what our morning/after dinner walks look like!! Jealous?? :)
