Progress

Well I got some of Lane's Room's projects done. At least now the cardboard on the windows are replaced with curtains, and his little bear rug is done! He seems to like them both. The curtains will eventually have a matching stick on the bottom for weight, but I forgot to buy the eyelets to attatch them, SOOOOO someday they'll get done. But they work for now!

Lane wanted me to take a picture of him saying "cheese"

Lane trying out his new bear rug. He's showing me his "bear teeth"

Here's the curtains...

Full shot of the bear rug....I origially pictured a bigger teddy bear.....but this is what they had at the thrift store. I think it's fun

where's lane!?!? Any ideas on what to do with this sweet camo net???

Millions of peaches....

Peaches for ME!!!! Well i guess i'll share them with my family... THANK YOU THANK YOU Jess and Jade for helping me get my peaches done! I have canned with these girls for 3 years now! It's lots of fun, and lots of work. BUT it's worth it. I think i got about 43 jars of peaches this year......next week......i'm tackling my pears! WOO HOO

weekend projects

This weekend Scott started our "shed." It's really a 16X36 ft "shop" sort-of. For now it will house all of our toys, motorized and sea-worthy. Eventually we'll put lean-to's on both sides and it will hold yard stuff, garden stuff, and whatever else. We're so excited to have a place to store our stuff before the winter! And I'll even get scott's tools out of my pantry so I can actually use it to store food!

Here's one of my cute log ladders for my blankets. Scott made this one. I get to make the one for the attic apparently :)

Here we go again....

I knew this was coming......Since we finished the house, and Scott's a little slow at work, he had to find SOMETHING to do, right? Besides. No summer is complete without renting a BULLDOZER for a week, right??

Lane got to go for a few rides

Lane getting instructions on how to turn it on. You can never start these things too early.

Trying to climb up the tracks

Big rock Scott knocked loose. He ended up rolling it out into the driveway he was working on and burying it.

Working on the driveway behind the house (it goes in a big circle around the house/yard)

going down a big hill

Lane going to enjoy his new "yard"

some of the destruction. There's quite a few less trees, but we gained spots for a 30X40 shop, a garden, a motorcyle/toy shed, and a wood shed.

In the doghouse....

Lane wanted to play is Grizzly's kennel this morning.....against my better judgement I let him, and grizzly was glad to have some company.

This is just to show that he really did climb in there willingly

Lane and grizz look like they're howling together.....goofy kids

Lane and grizz have been playing more together lately. By playing, I mean Lane beats on, rolls on, climbs on, bulldozes, and tackles grizzly. Grizzly just retaliates by licking him.
It's a good trade,
I guess

Muscles!

A while ago we taught Lane how to show off his muscles. He usually accompanies it with a really silly face, anywhere from cheezy grin to holding-my-breath-till-it-turns-red face. Pictures don't do "muscles" justice, cuz he starts to shake and everything, but it's still pretty funny

7-ish months!

I'm not sure when the months are according to the weeks of pregnancy are, but here's the 7 month belly pic! I skipped 6 months, cuz really....it's all just getting bigger, right?
at least now that i can say i only have like 2 months left, my patients at work and random people don't gasp anymore or ask how many babies i have in there......

I had another ultra sound this morning.....it's definately a girl :) Scott was starting to freak me out saying that it was going to come out a boy, now that i've started acquiring girl things :) She's pretty cute.....everything looks good!

Founding Fathers, and Mama!

In commemoration of finishing our house, we decided to put our handprints on the deck before Scott clear coated it. The sharpie marker doesn't exactly match the rustic look, but at least it's permanent! :)

Long Live the Wood Lodge!
Someday when we pour walkways around th ehouse we'll have Lane or baby girl walk down them so there'll be little footprints in the sidewalks....that will be cute.

Priorities

So is it weird that instead of working on potty training with Lane, we taught him how to ride a bike??

HE doesn't think so.

He pretty much insisted on it, so why not?! He saw his bike at Jason's and asked if we could bring it home. I don't know if i've ever seen him so excited (well maybe when we brought his toys home). He couldn't stop talking about his bike the whole drive home. We unloaded it off the truck and he probably sat on the deck with his bike just looking at it for a half hour before he would come in the house.

look at this happy boy!!! Daddy is finally fixing his bike!!

Off he goes! I dont' think we even had to tell him what to do. He just hopped on and off he went!

He can even steer around the corners of the deck. I'm thinking he's a genious. Or perhaps the next Evil Kaneval?

Serious biking face

SO he's still limited to the deck right now, becuase the training wheels catch him up too much on the dirt.....but i give him about a month and he'll be riding around the lake!
Then maybe we'll think about starting to potty train him! :)

Take a load off!

ATTENTION! For all of you that were scared to come a visit us because we had NOWHERE for you to sit but the floor......feel free to come and visit! I got some couches from a friend at work this weekend! WOO HOO! Can't decide if I should cover them a different color since they're so close to the carpet color...but WHATEVER! Hey, and we even have our rocking horse now curtesy of Lane, for the more adventurous.

It was so cute.....we went to Jason's for another load of our stuff and Lane went STRAIGHT to the horse and tried to pick it up and says, very seriously, "we need to take horsey home" You bet, buddy....

keeps getting better

Hopefully this is as dark as it will get. It was really fun going to church yesterday with a black eye.....Especially being sustained as the YW president during sacrament meeting.......NOT so easy to just hide in the back row till next week when it fades a little :) Needless to say, Scott is being kept a close eye on from the old ladies at church :) I didn't bother to tell them it's LANE they need to watch out for....

Tempted?

Mmmm..doesn't this look GOOD?!?!? NO! Not for Carol! :( Dr called this morning....failed the sugar test......again. I wasn't surprised. Good thing I never gave back my glucose monitor from Lane. :) Finger poking and test strips, here I come!!

Take That, MOM!

Yesterday got off to a rough start when I was awaken by a painful WHACK in the face from my two year old. Apparently I was not getting out of bed fast enough for him, so he decided to speed up the process. What was the weapon of choice??? A baseball hat for heaven's sake. I didn't know the bill of a hat could inflict so much pain!!! So this morning it's a mild shiner. It looks way worse in person.....trust me :) I'll fit RIGHT in at the Deer Park Bowling alley tonight......pregnant, black eye, bowling, two year old with matching black eye......HA..just kidding....I wouldn't take Lane out in public like that!
Hmmm.........I need to go find me a sweet bowling shirt......

Now what??

Well...here it is, folks. Most of it at least. The office, craft closet, master bedroom, nursery are not pictured due to minor tornadoes which have passed through our home the last two weeks. Here's the stats of our house. We finally closed on our end loan today! WOO HOOO

Square feet: 2650
Bedrooms: 4 +1 office
Baths: 3
Deck: 1800 sq ft (porch swings and couches here we come!! ha)
Price tag:We came in about 40,000 under our loan, but about 20,000 over what we WANTED to spend. But all in all not too bad.

Our SWEEEEEET hand rail. I TOTALLY love the Iron. Thanks, Chris!!!!

Lane's room.....he probly won't have real curtains for a long time :) But he DOES have his big boy bed, and has done surprisingly well staying in it!

Master bath, note the outhouse door is up. The other door is a linen closet

TV room: lane enjoying his long lost movies.

The toy room

Well that's it in a nutshell. I haven't really decorated yet, more than a few pictures in the kitchen. We'll see when that happens. If you notice, we no longer have a couch. We donated it to the mice at Jason's house. We went to pick it up and found lovely rotten mice carcasses on, probly IN, and most definately AROUND it,......and in some dresser drawers and other various places. YUM! SO we left it there. Something about looking at the mouse gut stain on the couch cushion didn't do it for me. BUT I am truly grateful that we HAD a place to store our stuff and that our clothes, most of our bedding, and other things weren't ruined. Thanks, Uncle Jason!!

Lost Childhood

Lane has re-discovered all his old "baby" toys. I'm hoping that he will loose interest in them by the time the baby gets here. He's been a trooper through our un-packing phase, and OVERJOYED at getting his toys back......which he promptly unloaded and spread over every inch of his toy room. Oh well. He deserves it .....at least for a little while.
