future lumberjack...

You thought this was referring to Lane didn't you?

Well Lucy's favorite thing to do lately is to help out...with everything. Including helping build fires. Here's how it goes.

step 1. Pick up wood

step 2. Carry it to daddy

even the ones that are sooooo heavy

and the little ones too

step 3. Make sure you bring EVERY log to daddy

step 4. help him 'blow' on the fire to make it big.

she's a good little helper. We could repeat this process for any numbe of household chores these days. Loading/unloading the dishwasher, washe/dryer, setting the table.....etc....she's such a good helper!!

Hello, Dinner!!

That's right, we got some meat hens this year. We only got 12 of them,....to try out the process.. Don't worry....i probably won't post "the process" of getting them to my freezer, but i will let you all know how it turned out price-wise.....should be an interesting experiment!

It's funny how adamently me and scott have refused to let animals, pets, whatever into our house so far....but guess where these chicks are??? Yup, in my laundry room....stinking up my whole house!!! ugh. Hopefully scott will build their coop tomorrow!

do you see what I see??

Do you see IT!?!?!??!

NO????

how about a closer look

GRAAAAAAASSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's kind of sad so far actully. But i was out today surveying the progress and noticed that the grass was coming up thick in the puddles....then realized that the rest of the yard must not be getting enough water, so i dug out the hose burried in the snow and proceeded to water my precious grass....hope it helps!!!!

Home Improvements

we've put a few more touches into the house lately. I just wanted to show off Scott's mad log skills....
He made two matching log book shelves for the living room
The wall over the piano will be our "family pictures" wall......someday :)
They turned out pretty fun. Lucy loves to take all the books off them. That little log table was scott's first attempt at something log back at the A-frame.... So here's my delemma.....i cannot figure out what to do for my windows!!!! i don't want to put regular curtains up...blinds are out....i'm thinking shutters.....but not sure how to go about that....i need to keep scanning my country magazine for some good "cabin" ideas....
The kitchen got a little make-over...finally put up some little curtains and some things on the walls. I should put a before pic up becuase it was all bare.... The sign above the kitchen sink window says: "today's menu: TAKE IT or LEAVE IT"
Scott made me a little shelf to put my plates on ...and i'll put up some old spice tins up there too someday... My brother gave me the old shutters and the old kitchen utensils....don't they look neat??

me and scott made the chalk board signs up over the windows....i think they turned out pretty fun.... And my curtains....they have mixed reviews. I like them. Scott thinks they look "old lady-ish" but i think they are "cabin-y" what do you guys think?? Someday i'll have lots of fun things over my cabinets too....the problem is collecting the stuff!! :) So there's my grand "decorating" for the year!! I have one more little stitchery sign i want to make to put under the shutters....someday...

to be continued....

more pictures of this guy to follow.......sans q-tips......hopefully.....
Lane turns 4 on monday!!! So we're going to try and get a good photo-shoot after the big day :) Stay tuned....

16 months!

I can't believe my little Lucy is 16 months old....craziness!!! Lucy is a little firecracker. She is getting michevious.....which......i admittingly deserve. I have years of torment to look forward too in pay-backs for tormenting my mom. Hopefully my kids will be funny about it like I was.....remember mom, when you would sit in your recliner, and i'd come up behind you and tip your chair back and leave you on your head??? :) Helarious :)

blowing kisses...
This is the "come and get me" face as she's running away from her jammies....

This is her flirty face

this is her "innocent" face...

This is the smile she gave me today after she pooped in her bath......

Oh, Lucy, we love you. You make us laugh, and you have such an infectious giggle.
Don't you just want to snuggle her??

5 Months

Me and the girls decided to practice with mom's new camera today and take some pics. I haven't done any editing on these yet, but i'll fancy them up a little later. Macy is in her jammies....but that's ok, cuz so was mama.

Macy's little smile makes me laugh....i love her little elf face....

i love her little eye brows too....

"hello world!!!"

i'm sure she's having some deep thought in this one :)
sweet macy.

night at the woods

Here's what our bath-night looks like....I got bored waiting for lane so me and girls took some pics...

Lane's favorite spa.....I'm sure that he's used my beautiful jet tub a hundred times more than I have...it's a shame :) But it definately makes some killer bubbles when the jets are going

Happy Macy.....he's getting really good at sitting....
I just love this picture and her big happy smile.....she gives this smile out alot these days.....especially to the boys that sit behind us at church....

another smiley pic....i just can't get enough!!!

pretty in pink....yes....90% of the clothes i have for the girls is pink...I'm not sure what happened....but i don't really care....i actually like pink for some reason. BUT it's a little sad becuase I've decided that Macy isn't really a "pink" girl....I think she's more of a "yellow" girl..but she's going to have to make do....she's going to be in lucy's hand-me-downs forever! :)

these two are so cute together.....check it out though.....they seriously are almost the same size!!
Look at lucy....she's totally a mini-scott :) She looks SO much like her daddy!!

Just for fun

Just for fun i put together the three kids when they first started sitting up...which happens to be almost exactly the same time 4.5 months. It's fun to see them all next to each other to see their different little faces.

one of those days

Ever had one of THOSE days? Well Lucy is waiting--phone in hand--to empathize and commiserate

Look what I can do!

She can sit up for a few minutes before she falls over...
now if we could just get her to sleep through the night!!! :)

4 months

Macy turned 4 months old last month... I finally got around to posting some pics of her, even tho she's almost 5 months :)
macy is quite the smiley one these days. She smiles readily at anyone and everyone especially her big brother Lane. Lane could roll all over her and she would still smile at him like he's the greatest thing

She has rolled from her tummy to her back a handful of times but is not all that excited about it :) She loves to be around people and loves to be held

Macy hasn't had her 4 month check up yet becuase she's been sick, but i'm guessing she's around 13-14 lbs. She's wearing 6 month-ish clothes. She can sit up by herself just in the past few days! She also loves to talk, and has the funniest little growl/coo-ing noise. She's also starting to get ticklish, which I LOVE :)

Lucy LOVES macy so much. Every time she sees her she runs over and gives her hugs and kisses. It is the cutest thing ever and macy tolerates it well :)
We love our little Macy, and can't wait to see her little personality start to come out more and more as she gets older!

5 years!

We had our 5 year anniversary on Friday March 4th!
5 years....on one hand it seems like forever, and on the other hand it seems like we got married yesterday!
Either way you look it it, it's great though. I couldn't have found a better guy for me than Scott.
We have had such an eventful and FUN beginning. Here's a recap of the past 5 years....
Got married, bought a house, fixed up said house, had Lane, Started a business, bought some property, built a house, rented out other house, had Lucy, blinked, had Macy....
And here we are :)
I am so thankful that I found someone I can laugh with, cry with, be myself around, trust, and love. I'm thankful that we were able to be sealed and have a forever family!
Here's to the next 5 years, and to all the new adventures that i'm sure we're in for!

Crafting

Lane's been into crafting lately. He got a sweet little bucket o' supplies from my mom and loves to make things with it! (i have no idea where he got THAT from! :) )
It's fun to see his little creative mind going....he's got his daddy's mad building skills too!
