Manti or Bust

For the 4th we took a road trip to Manti to visit my gramma and my sister. TONS of fun. Here's some highlights.

chillin in the back with Scott (cousin)

Climbing the ladder to one loft in the cabin

family photo attempt #1

attempt #2

Walking down the cabin "driveway" to the stream.

Apparently every family picture was pure and utter TORTURE for this poor child. We gave up after this attempt

lane trying to break into the Manti temple

He was pretty concerned that no one was opening the door so he started knocking on the walls.

My sister my gramma and me.

Pony rides at the park! Lane thought that was pretty cool. He learned "Giddy-up Cowboy!"

Concentrating very hard on holding on. He did really well, and kept looking at me saying "It's bumpy!!!" I said "yeah like mama's dirbike, right?" he thought that was an acceptable analogy and was fine after that.

Sparkeler face.

I got to visit my friend Jessie on the way home. This is jessie's first baby she's due any day. YAAY
Lane was all doen on the way home. He was a great travelor! We'll have to do it again sometime!

Debut

Ok, so i decided it's ok to post a belly pic of me at 5 months, becuase at least i'm SUPPOSED to have a belly by then, right? Here you go, folks. Here's baby girl's grand appearance :)

Adaptable

Look who is WAY too comfortable living in a construction zone. Yikes.

I guess it's a good think this cat is tough. Out of the 4 or so cats we've tried to bring to this property she is the only survivor......
Here's to you, Meow! (name curtesy of Lane)

New Toy

Scott made an impromptu teeter-totter. Lane's a big fan, but needs more people his size!

Camo, Trucks, and tool sets....

All come in pink, right???

we're having a GIRL!!! AAAAAAAH!!!!   I KNEW it, but I'll be honest, I still cried the entire way home :)  I'm not sure what the emotion was to instigate the crying, but it's a mix of fear, joy, anxious, excitement, and who knows what else. But I think I ended at excitement.  The wood family is over as we know it, but it will be fun to see what it turns into :)
Let the sewing begin!!

Funny

I was talking to gramma terry the other day, and
she says, "when is your baby coming?"
i say, "Oh not till november..."
Gramma (almost falls out of her chair) "OOOH.....really???? I thought you were MUCH farther along than that"
me.."yeeeahhhh.....not so much.....i'm just big"
Gramma...."well that's ok. people used to tease me, cuz i got huge too with my babies..."
Ahhhhh, I love old people :)
I can't escape it....here's a conversation with me and one of my patients at work last week:
patient: "oh!! when are you due?"
me: "oh, not till november"
Patient: (eyes bugged out of her head) "Yikes!! Triplets??!????"
me: "just shut up and do your exercise"
OH WAIT...that was what i said in my head.....real answer......"ha ha.....nope.....just one....."
Helarious!
tomorrow is my ultrasound......i'm pretty sure that i've cracked, and i'm going to find out what i'm having... I figure...i didn't find out with Lane, so i should find out with this one so i know which way is more fun. Right?? Ok. SO i'm taking guesses. I think it's a girl. What do you guys think?

deck party!

Scott started putting our decking down this weekend! Lane is so excited to be able to run up and down it and said, "oh! I can ride my bike on it??" yup, you bet, Lane.

we are using redwood....it's really pretty stuff....we probly will just clear coat it and not stain it. Wrap around porch and porch swings.....here we come!

Heaven part 2

My new definition of Heaven is having a kitchen sink. THOUGH i have not yet ventured to wash my dishes in it....because I don't have a dish drainer yet......but just knowing that it is there brings me joy :) And that I can turn the handle and water actually comes out??? Well now....there's pure bliss.

Delays

Well.....I'm not sure why this surprises and/or frustrates me.....but we are experiencing some delays with finishing our house. FIRST: we were supposed to get carpet on june 23rd....but apparently i ordered the most popular color of the century and it's backordered....tilll july 8th....ok.....WELL then our carpet guy calls and says he can't come till the 12th, and my heart almost broke.....why??? Because these days i'm a little pyschotic due to the growth i call "the belly" SOOOOOO a few more weeks *sigh* i can do it.
SECOND: we installed our hardwood last weekend, and here's where we
RAN OUT OF WOOD

Are you KIDDING me!!?!?! THIS.....THIS measely little section that would take like 6 boards, cost me getting my kitchen appliances this week. NOW we have to wait 2 weeks for One...1....stinking box of wood :) I'm not bitter......

But isn't it pretty??

So fun

here's when it's clean

Here's when it's not......i dont' bother cleaning it really....becuase we dont' have our carpet, and so people can't take their shoes off.....sooooooooo this is the constant state of my floor.....i'm not sure really the PROPER way to clean hardwood flooring since i've never ever dealt with it in my life.....so if anyone has some pointers, that would be great :)

BFFs

That's love, when someone slobbers on you, chews on your head, carries you around by your leg, and eats all your food, and you STILL want to cuddle with them......

Downstairs bathroom

Scott built a little log vanity for the downstairs bathroom. Totally cute. YAY

Now we just need to grout, put down our hardwood, doorknobs and carpet and the inside is DONE!!!!

tile tile everywhere!

We got our kitchen counters on this weekend too. They are really pretty! We did a granite tile...

It's a tan, brown, white speckled, but from a distance kind of looks green. Either way i think it's really pretty! We got a brown sink...so it all ties in well together. I think the next pictures will just be when it's all done with appliances and all! WOO HOO

Finishing up

Scott's been working like a maniac this weekend to get some of the last projects done. Here's our master bathroom. Tile's all in, all it needs now is grout and sealed and then it's done!

Our shower. It's pretty sweet, it has two shower heads. The whole thing but the ceiling is tile.

Our vanity. It's open on the bottom so we can put our laundry baskets under there.

My masterpiece. We had lots of extra rock from the fireplace, so we decided to put some on the bathtub. I am not only an electrician but now i'm a mason!! I can officially do rock work....but sorry....i'm retired. One job was enough for me :)

The whole bathroom at a glace, at least what could fit in my camera lense. The vanity is accross from the shower, and the pooper room is on the left by that little linen closet. I think our bathroom is pretty amazing. I LOVE it,.....i think it looks like some mountain resort. :)

Wild Life

Our moose is back! Grizzly bear isn't such a fan of the moose, but at least he lets us know she's around so we can make sure our kids don't get eaten :)

This was looking out from our back porch.

Future mechanic

This week the gas tank on scott's truck decided to fall off. SO Lane was helping Scott fix it after work one day. He's a natural. Now we just need to teach him how to change the oil in MY car.
"cheese"
Not sure what he was messing with under there, but he had lots of fun.

Long live the Microwave!

So I had to make treats for YW birthdays today for church. Since I don't have an oven, and I really didn't want to travel anywhere to cook something, I decided on rice crispy treats. I make smores in the microwave, why not melt mallows for crispy treats?? Well, I had to get a little creative, since i don't have ANY OF my kitchen stuf here. I.E. no bowls, no mixing spoons, no NOTHING. SOO I have a glass dish I stole (sorry debbie!! :)) from the Terry's that I cooked my mallows in. For a mixing bowl i had an empty ice cream bucket (yay for mass quantities of ice cream), and my personal favorite.....an ice cream scooper for a mixing spoon becuase it was the largest kitchen untesil i could find! I actually had a brownie pan for some reason....so i could put my crispies in something other than a cardboard cereal box (which i was totally prepared to do!) All in all they turned out good! Except for the slight mishap with the microwave. Apparently my butter that i tried melting was wrapped in a foil wrapper....who knew!! Sooooo aside from the SLIGHT fire and blue lightening created in the microwave all was well. Even our microwave survived!

Baby....

Well I am officially 4 months pregnant! Craziness! I have my 5 month ultra sound the end of June, and I am trying really hard NOT to find out what we're having..... I haven't felt the baby kick yet, but am looking forward to it. I am not posting a picture of my belly yet becuase it's embarrassing, becuase i could easily pass for a 6-7 month pregnant lady......SOOOOOO you can all just use your imagination. It doesn't help that i ALREADY looked pregnant long before I actually WAS :) But who cares. In my first 4 months, i've lost 4 pounds......which is pretty funny to me, becuase I am SOOO backwards. One of these visits they will tell me that i'm actually gaining weight with this pregnancy. All is good though, and will post pics of the little one's first photo shoot at the end of June!

Sweet light!

Here is the cute cute wagon wheel light all done and up! I think it's so cute, and love how our upstairs hallways turned out. I think i'm going to name our house the wood lodge....becuase it totally looks like a ski resort or something. I love it though. i can't wait to decorate!!!

So UPDATE: Scott is finishing our master shower (tile) and the kitchen counter tops today and tomorrow. Then we're pretty much ready to lay our hardwood in the hall/kitchen....then we're ready for carpet!!!!! I'm drooling i can't almost taste being finished....... I really don't even care to move any of our stuff in (except for my kitchen....i am SOOOO DONE cooking all my meals in the microwave) I just can't wait to have carpet to walk on instead of subflooring :)

King of Bars

Yup thats right...my husband is the Bar KING!!!! This could be a bad thing.....but in THIS case it's GREAT!!!!! Look at this beautiful log bar he made for our kitchen......it's SOOOOO Pretty....well it was, till we had to re-sand it. BUT It will be beautiful again! I LOVE that it's so tall cuz we have a log bench from the A-frame that we want to use. And i LOVE LOVE LOVE my hangy lights over it....SO CUTE!

Inside view...this is where by recylcing buckets will go....since we don't have garbage service....we are TOTALLY going green.....which is helarious becuase we're about as black as can be on the "green" scale. I have to recycle about 1000000000 tons of stuff to make up for all the trash bags of dirty diapers, paint cans, and misc junk i've burned in the last 6 months...... :) But hey.....we can all be reformed, right??

extreme close up. the top is two slices of log put together.....sooooo fun

Big view of the kitchen. note the new microwave YAY

The caped wonder

Lane brought me a trash bag the other day and made me tie it around him like a cape....he probly wore it for a good hour or so. He was pulling his truck around by a rope, with his cape on....and saying "cheese" because he wanted me to take pictures and show them to him... he's so funny. So if you know anyone that needs a smiling super-hero.....i have one.

Heaven!

Heaven is: Having our own washer and dryer again after the better part of a year without one!!!! Not only do I get clean clothes and towells when i want them, but they make great shelves for my JUNK!!! :) ok...only till i get real shelves in my laundry room.....yeah, right!
Heaven is also having a functioning sink on the main floor so i don't have to go upstairs every time i want water or wash dishes.......no more bathtub dishwashing for me!! WOO HOOOO.
This is the life.
